Little girl emotionally sings ‘You Are My Sunshine’ to dying cat

Pets become a truly meaningful part of a person’s life and eventually become a member of the family, as any pet owner will attest to.

Pets give their owners unconditional love and joy despite not being people, however they regrettably do not live forever.

Because of this, there is a probability that every pet owner will eventually experience a loss. For young children, dealing with and experiencing this can be very difficult.

Likewise, this narrative is really emotional, so be prepared with something to dab your eyes.

This video shows a young girl singing “You Are My Sunshine” to her cat as it tragically dies right before Christmas.

Even though the young girl, Abby, only has four years old, she has already had a lot of good memories with her magnificent cat, Bailey, who lived with her family for ten years before Abby was ever born. The two so formed a very unique friendship.

For many years, Abby and Bailey were best friends. Abby frequently read to and sang to Bailey.

In the video, Bailey seems to fully understand what Abby was singing—the final time she would be serenading her closest friend. As a result of Bailey’s failing kidney, she died shortly after.

Thousands of people from all over the world shared, liked, and commented on the video when it was put online, praising Abby and leaving supportive comments.
After watching the video, thousands of people send Abby presents and cards in the hopes that they will cheer her up, according to News.com.au.

Abby’s mother used the occasion to express her gratitude to everyone who sent cards and sincere comments during their time of mourning. She said that the kindness the family received from complete strangers gave her a glimmer of hope for the future, particularly in light of how much hatred is circulated online.

Although it is heartbreaking to witness, it is also comforting to know that Bailey spent her last moments in a caring environment.
